About Me
My name is Michael Baggott, i have a keen interest in computers and IT, and have 10 years work experience in the industry, plus 4 years of education in two qualifications with a Technology focus. I have lived up and down the East Coast of Australia, and am currently settled on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, but would consider moving closer to Brisbane for any work opportunites. I prefer to work in the IT industry, as that is where most of my experience and skills lie, and am currently seeking employment after just finishing up a Bachelor of Technology (Compuing Studies) with RMIT Melbourne. Alongside this degree i have been styudying a Diploma of Digital and Interactive Gaming with Evocca College. My hobbies include, software application programming, game development, 3D modelling, and website development. I also have an interest in computer gaming, movies and follow some TV series in my spare time.

Volunteer
Magikcraft.io
After a season at the JDP Internship, i was invited to join the Magikcraft team. Magikcraft is a startup company that is moving forward in leaps and bounds with a platform that teaches children how to code using the popular game Minecraft. Technologies in use here include Java, Javascript, Typescript, PHP, with contributions from developers added via git. My initial role here is to get familiar with the project, and my Javascript and Java skills will be utilised.

Intern
Just Digital People
Completed a 3 month Internship with Just Digital People. The project was to create a hybrid mobile app using the Ionic Framework (Javascript). The project was completed and an MVP was constructed, and i was heavily involved from design through to engineering and development. A variety of skills were added to my porftolio including Ionic, Angular.js, advanced Javascript, authentication with Oauth and an OAuth provider Auth0, The Goolge REST API including Google Calendar and Google Drive, development using an online IDE in a Linux environment called Cloud9, and version control with Git.

Took some time off work during this period to complete a Bachelors Degree and a Diploma in Game Development. I achieved excellent results at University, and at the time of doing the Diploma there was a very low graduation rate, so was glad to be able to complete it.

Worked at an Internet Service Provider in two roles, one role being Internet Support, the other being Internet plan and PC sales. Was responsible for front end management of a small store, along with first line technical support for ADSL and Dial-Up Internet customers.

Groundsman
King Tree Services
Trained and employed as a groundsman for a tree lopping business. Duties included operation of chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, and a wood chipper. Additionally, safe roping down of branches and logs was undertaken, and management of ground refuse from felling to chipper. Trained to perform all operations within safety guidelines, along with pedestrian safety and management.
